The Akshardham Center for Applied Research in Social Harmony was inaugurated in 1992 with the opening of the Swaminarayan Akshardham, Gandhinagar. The AARSH institute serves as a platform for scholars from around the world to discuss practical applications of philosophy and science to increase social harmony and to find solutions to social problems facing our communities. AARSH also serves as an archival resource, and is home to many ancient manuscripts and philosophical, literary and religious texts. AARSH has notably hosted the international conferences entitled the Concept of Vaidika and the Role of a Guru.
