As part of its education activities, the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha in Uganda donated two plots of land to Gulu Senior Secondary School, a government aided school in Kanyagoga, Gulu Municipal Council, with over 1,575 students. The two plots are located in Bardege-Layibi division, Gulu city, neighboring the BAPS Mandir in Gulu that was built for worship in 1963.
Representatives of BAPS Uganda handed over the Certificate of Land Title to Rtd Bishop Emeritus Onono Onweng, Chairperson of the Gulu Senior Secondary School Board of Governors, in the presence of the State Minister of Education and Sports, Hon. Denis Hamson Obua.
The presentation ceremony featured a traditional welcome dance, music and prayers by the students, followed by speeches by chairperson Rtd Bishop Emeritus Onono Onweng, the state minister Hon. Denis Hamson Obua and BAPS representatives.
