BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha’s healthcare services benefit millions each year. Among these, mobile medical clinics provide free diagnosis and treatment, significantly serving underprivileged communities in rural areas.
Continuing this effort, two new medical vans, donated by Aster Volunteers under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of Aster DM Healthcare, were inaugurated at Swaminarayan Akshardham Mandir in Gandhinagar. These vans will be operated by the BAPS Public Charitable Trust.
Amonmg the dignitaries present at the inauguration ceremony were Gujarat’s Minister of Health Shri Rushikeshbhai Patel, Home Minister Shri Harshbhai Sanghvi, senior BAPS swamis – Nikhilesh Swami, Vishwavihari Swami, Brahmaviharidas Swami, and Puja Aksharvatsaldas Swami – as well as Shri Jalilji and representatives from Aster DM Healthcare.
These two medical vans will provide essential healthcare services to remote tribal areas of Gujarat. Equipped with modern medical facilities, the vans will serve as mobile clinics offering primary treatment, specialist consultations, and emergency ambulance services. Speaking at the inauguration, Hon’ble Health Minister Shri Rushikeshbhai Patel remarked,
“By building a mandir in Abu Dhabi, BAPS has fostered cultural and diplomatic ties between India and the Arab nations. Inspired by this, Aster Group of Companies, which operates in the healthcare sector, has donated two medical vans for Gujarat. BAPS already operates 12 mobile medical clinics, and with this addition, the total has increased to 14. These vans will provide vital primary care and emergency medical support in remote tribal areas. I am confident that these new vans will greatly benefit these regions.”
Representing Aster DM Healthcare, Shri Jalilji also conveyed gratitude to BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha for its remarkable services.
Brahmavihari Swami addressed the gathering, “With the blessings and guidance of guruhari Mahant Swami Maharaj, BAPS’s healthcare services include 20 hospitals and 12 mobile clinics. Through these initiatives, dedicated BAPS volunteers have provided free medical services to over 6.7 million people through health awareness programs, nutritional supplements, diagnostics, emergency treatments and other initiatives. Today, we are adding another milestone to this journey. Inspired by the construction of the BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi, Dr. Azad Moopen, Chairman of the renowned Aster Hospitals Group, has donated two fully equipped medical vans to support healthcare services in Gujarat’s remote villages. Dr. Moopen’s Aster Group operates 34 hospitals across India and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), employing 34,000 staff, including 4,000 doctors. Having witnessed the extensive social services carried out by BAPS in Gujarat, he has generously contributed these two medical vans, which will now serve rural communities. Dr. Moopen has already donated 50 such medical vans across different regions.”
Following the medical van inauguration ceremony, the ministers and dignitaries offered incense before the divine murti of Tapomurti Shri Nilkanth Varni Maharaj at Swaminarayan Akshardham, seeking blessings for the health and prosperity of the people of Gujarat.
