In support of the national Clean India campaign, BAPS Swaminarayan devotees have taken personal pledges to help keep their homes and neighbourhoods clean and hygienic.
During April 2015, as part of the BAPS Cleanliness Drive, devotees from BAPS centres throughout Gujarat selected a variety of public places to clean. Separate teams of men and women devotees spent many hours cleaning these places.
A total of 43,400 women devotees from 2,780 BAPS centres cleaned 2,641 places – 1,430 mandirs, 133 hospitals, 825 schools, 30 old-age homes and 639 other public places.
