On September 26th, the US Census Bureau Partnership Specialist Dr. Amitabha Das presented a plaque of appreciation to BAPS. The plaque was presented in recognition of the numerous BAPS centers across North America that helped the US Census Bureau in creating greater awareness of the importance in filling out and returning the 2010 US Census Survey.
“Getting an accurate 2010 Census Count would not have been possible without the support of community focused organizations like BAPS,” said Dr. Amitabha Das. The 2010 US Census had a very high completion rate to the initial survey mailing because of community awareness campaigns which reduced tax payer costs by minimizing door to door follow up. BAPS was proud to help the US Census Bureau in supporting this important national campaign.
