‘Language gives shape to our thoughts and colours to our imagination.’
To help the students appreciate the world from a different perspective and inculcate in them a love for the English language, Swaminarayan Vidyamandir Randesan celebrated English Language Day on 24th April 23. Many fun-filled activities were conducted for the students of classes V to XII. The classrooms became abuzz with students displaying a multitude of talent and creativity with each activity.
A special assembly was organised for the day. The special assembly commenced with an introduction to English language Day celebration and its importance. Spell Bee Competition was organised for students of Std V & VII in order to help the students enhance their vocabulary and build confidence while engaging in a healthy competition.
The students of Class IX participated in a skit with the theme ‘Importance of Learning English’ in which they highlighted that English language is the amalgamation of four basic skills, Speaking, Reading, Writing & Listening. Their happiness and excitement was clearly evident and worth watching.
The special assembly ended with a speech by our campus director Dr. Neeta Shah. In her speech she highlighted the fact that English has become a global language and how important it is for everyone to cherish it. She motivated all the students to not take English as a subject but as a skill.
The various innovative, enriching and entertaining activities made English Day a memorable one for the students, and inspired them.
