An induction ceremony of the English Access Microscholarship Program 2022-24 was held on Tuesday 27th September 2022 at the Ahmedabad Management Association for students of Class 11 who are participating in this program.
The event was organised by Pratham Ahmedabad Education Initiative and is the program of USA Government offered in India. Pratham Initiative is an innovative learning organisation created to improve the quality of education in India. It has grown in both scope and scale since 1995 with programs today reaching children and youth across the country and also provides vocabulary skills.
Access English MicroScholarship Program is a two year program for students to develop proficiency in English language speaking skills. Pratham Ahmedabad Education Initiative has selected three schools in Gujarat, out of which one of them is BAPS Swaminarayan Vidyamandir, Randesan to run this program.
The Chief Guests for the ceremony were Mrs. Rachna Sharma (Regional English Language Specialist, U.S Embassy, Delhi) and Mrs. Simran Nagra (English language and Education outreach coordinator, Mumbai).
Students were engaged in various activities such as HOT SEAT wherein each group was given a set of questions and one chosen member placed on the hot seat to answer the questions. Another activity was where the students had to write about what they are grateful for in life on chart papers. Our students prepared charts and presented them during the ceremony.
The Access program curriculum strengthens speaking, writing, listening, and reading skills, and extracurricular activities provide additional opportunities to improve English language proficiency as well as help build leadership skills and promote personal development.

The alumni of the program from previous years addressed the students’ with their experience during and after the completion of the program. They encouraged the students to attend the classes regularly to get maximum benefit.
Towards the end, the students were presented with a certificate and congratulated for the start of a new journey.
