Following the BAPS tradition of organising parayan in the month of Shravan to offer devotion and reverence to Bhagwan Swaminarayan and Gunatit Gurus, this year a three-day balika parayan was organised with the central theme of ‘Shantilal Adarsh Humara’ .
Students of standard 5-8 participated enthusiastically in various activities involved in parayan. The parayan was held with the aim to imbibe and impart the life-changing messages of Param Pujya Pramukh Swami Maharaj’s childhood instances, as a part of his centenary celebration year. The schedule of the three-days long parayan was planned with different subjects projecting the life of Pramukh Swami Maharaj and his connection with the BAPS Balikas. Students chanted vedic mantras, musicals, offered kirtan bhakti, performed skits, dance performance and most importantly pledged to serve the guru and the sanstha by imbibing the virtues and values of Param Pujya Pramukh Swami Maharaj. Towards the end, Mahant Swami Maharaj blessed them and taught the lessons to be Shantilal and live a life of virtuous balikas.
The parayan was not only an occasion to offer devotion but also a stage to showcase the strengths of the students and develop vocational skills.
