We are overwhelmed and glad to inform the successful celebration of Annual Day on 11 January 2020 by collaborative efforts of BAPS Swaminarayan Vidyamandir Family. All the members of management, faculty members and students were engaged in the preparation of Annual Function, days before the actual day. This most awaited day was celebrated energetically with enthusiasm and brilliance. On the day of Annual function all the students and teachers were excited to welcome the parents.
The chief guest for the day were Shri A. J Shah, Chairman of Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Board and Dr. Anil Patel, Director of Nisarg Science Community center. The timings for parents were 8:30 to 11:30 am to visit various subject rooms to admire the amazing work and skills performed by students of classes 5th to 9th. Through the vision, dedication, planning by teachers and motivation given to the students, the entire annual day was spectacularly celebrated and perfectly presented through joint efforts.
All the classes were spectacularly decorated with attractive charts made by students and other decorative items. In Sanskrit language, the theme was ‘Dev Bhasha Sanskrutum’. The students displayed Sanskrit related facts and recited Sanskrit shlokas from Gita and Upanishad mantras along with introduction on Swaminarayan Bhashiyam. In Gujarati, the theme was ‘Jay Jay Garvi Gujarat’. In Hindi, the theme was ‘Rashtrabhasha Hindi’ where importance of Hindi language was highlighted. In English the theme was ‘How to learn English?’. The students performed skit on the Topic of ‘Malgudi Days’ written by great Indian author R.K Narayan and ‘Importance of English Language’. Various cues to read, think, write and learn in English were displayed by the students. The common line between all the languages was the importance given to art of speaking the language fluently to express ourselves while showing the linguistic prosperity of each language. It underlines the fact that how students learn the language and how language plays important role in our day to day life.
In Social Science the theme was ‘Social Science and Us’ also displayed attractive and impressive models of monuments such as Taj Mahal, Red Fort, Akshardham, stone age tools, ancient jewellery and various important incidents of History, EVM machine, level of courts, constitution of India, types of industries and impact on climate change. Next the students of Science group with their theme of ‘Science and Spirituality’ connected the subjects with spiritual ideas. The physics room had students wonderfully showing and performing activities on astrophysics, magnetism, optics relativity, force and sound. In biology room, the biodiversity was exhibited with reference to ‘Vachnamrut’. Along with that human body system and medicines from Vedic literature was illustrated with seven different activities. The chemistry room also had students showing twelve different mind blowing experiments on basic chemistry concepts. Also live ice cream was made by students and happily served to the guests. The students of Maths group also had theme of ‘Maths is Everywhere’. They displayed the central idea through fun activities of solving problem sums live, Rubik cubes, drawing line segment and other shapes by involving parents. The Exhibition ended with Better Living Subject displaying the nourishment of the soul through the values of satsang.
Another programme was arranged in prayer hall at 11:30 am for all the parents, students and teachers. The skit was performed by the students of 11th General stream on the topic ‘Kedavni ni Sargam’ to create understanding on the importance of value based education along with academic subjects. The dance performance on ‘Mahant Ashtakam’ was presented by the students wonderfully on the stage. In addition to that students were felicitated with medals and certificates in their respective achievements. The Annual Report of the school was presented by Students. Dr. Mithun Khandwala advised parents to spend more time with the children for their holistic development. Lastly Neeta Ma’am emphasized on inculcating moral values in students for developing their personalities.
