Kite flying festival or Uttarayan is celebrated with great fervour in Gujarat and specially in Ahmedabad and its vicinity. It holds special relevance in BAPS as Jholi Parva as well. This festival was celebrated on 13th January 2019 at Shahibaug mandir along with Satsang Sabha by BAPS Swaminarayan Vidyamandir, Randesan (Students of 10th Std, YTK batch-5, and instructors). The group attended Jholi Parva Sabha in the gracious Presence of P. Ishwarcharan Swami.
A special prasad sanctified by Thakorji and senior Santos was distributed to all members. The students then joined for Kite Flying on the terrace of Akshar Mahol. With the wind blowing at consistent and fairly high speed, all the students and educators enjoyed kite flying under specially permitted premises, under supervision. all the students and instructors flew the kites and had fun.
This was followed by a picnic at Sabarmati Riverfront, Ahmedabad. The students enjoyed the picturesque gardens and the river flowing right beside, for more than an hour which was followed by delicious snacks of Pasta. On return to the campus, the students also enjoyed kite flying the following day on campus ground.
