Yoga is an ancient physical, mental and spiritual practice that originated in India. The word ‘yoga’ derives from Sanskrit and means to join or to unite, symbolizing the union of body and consciousness.
The International Yoga Day was celebrated in SVM Randesan on 21st June’2019. The chief guest was Sh. Harsh. J. Vyas, Addl. Industries Commissioner, IAS officer. The program started with prayer followed by thought. Students also performed important asanas and performed the pranayamas (breathing exercises) for improving one’s concentration in studies. A short skit was performed for the students to highlight the benefits of yoga and how one can cure health issues with yoga. It was followed by a group song ‘Chalo Yog k sang chale, Hum yog k sang chale’.
It was followed by felicitation of our first batch of X std students who got the highest percentage and passed with flying colours. The students were felicitated for their hardwork and perseverance. Lastly our chief guest Harsh. J. Vyas shared his words of wisdom with the students. He felt extremely delighted with the performances of the students. He also appreciated the discipline and dedication which he saw among the students of SVM Randesan. He also felt that this school is a true learning environment for all the children and advised the students to make the most out of it. He emphasized and said “It is extremely fortunate that you have a chance to grow up in the such an environment and under guidance of experinced Mentors like Dr. Neeta Shah”. The most important thing which he appreciated was the spritual learning environment which we have here in school.
The celebration was concluded after the delivery of the vote of thanks by our Director Dr. Neeta Shah and the singing of the National Anthem.
