Science makes our life easier and by using technology we can protect our environment. The campus was delighted to have project organized by IIT Bombay. The project was named as “GANDHI GLOBAL SOLAR YATRA’’ -student solar ambassador. Under this project, participant students would make Solar Powerd Lamps themselves. We had a team of 5 teachers and a special guide Smriti Mirani in our school for this project, and the best was she had been one of the foundation member of this project in 2014. The project was held in our prayer hall in front of our director Neeta ma’am.
Students of Grade 6th ,7th ,8th ,9th and 11th participated with great enthusiasm and were excited to make the solar lamps. The seminar started at 3:00 pm. As per the guidance, kit was distributed to the students who were participating. The project was handled group wise, one group had 4 students and there were total 24 groups among us. First it began with theory part and the students learned basics and components and then we had practical to make solar lamps. Teachers were helping the students and students had a keen interest to make it. Nearby half an hour lamps were ready. All the groups were successful in making solar lamps. So, at last we had 24 successful solar lamps in our campus. As this was to mark Gandhiji’s 150 birthday all the students those who participated made 150 by holding lamps for photography. Each student also posed for group photo as a sort of memory. All the students enjoyed a lot. Unfortunately during night we had power cut in our campus at about 9:00 pm. And at that time 24 solar lamps lightened our campus. All the members were thrilled and vowed to use renewable energy in their villages whenever possible.
