Students of BAPS Swaminarayan Vidyamandir, Randesan commemorated Sanskrit day on 11th September 2018. It was themed- Sanskrit - The mother of all languages. The celebration was carried out with festivity and enthusiastic participation from everybody. The event was graced by the presence of chief guest Prof. Varsha Bhatt (Professor, Sanskrit Language).
The event was conducted completely in the Sanskrit language.
The celebration began with Saraswati Vandana and Siddhant gaan. The students of std 9 had memorized a huge chunk of Ishavasya Upanishad and recited it. The audience was left awestruck and before they could recover from the awe, students of std 10 recited hymns from "Brahmsutra Bhashyam" memorized by them. Std 5 students performed simple, yet well synchronized "Varnamala Geetam".
The classical dance ‘Shiv Tandav’ that left all spellbound with its grace and energy. Also, the quiz that ensued, involving all of the audience, made everyone put on their thinking caps.
Chief Guest, Smt. Varsha Bhatt highlighted how Sanskrit is important to our day-to-day life and can be used even more. She made students understand how the current practice of Sanskrit recitation shall be helpful to them in the future. Dr. Neeta Shah (Director, SVM Randesan) urged the students to respect and take pride in imbibing the Sanskritic values.
