When Girls are educated, their countries become stronger and more prosperous.
Woman. She loves, cares and gives affection and at same time ignites power and hope: They, transform society! And in celebration of these women, BAPS Swaminarayan Vidyamandir celebrated International Women’s Day on 9th March 2018. This event was graced by a special woman, the first lady IPS officer from Gujarat, Ms. Nipuna Torwane.
Various performances glorifying the identity of a woman were conducted by the students. The event was energized with the special performance by yuvatis from Yuvati Talim Kendra. All the presentations displayed the feeling of social, economic as well as spiritual empowerment of women in today’s world.
On this occasion, Ms. Nipuna Torawane, who is currently working as Joint Director at Gujarat Police Academy, and has marked her strength and excellence in various fields of her courageous service, also inspired students. She interacted with them at length and quite informally too. She spoke as a fellow woman who has overcome adversity and helped several overcome them, rather than a grade A officer. Students and yuvatis immediately connected with her during and after the speech. Ms. Nipuna also visited campus and freely interacted with everyone at the campus. The program helped in spreading a feeling of empowerment, awareness, and confidence was spread across the campus.
