As part of Pramukh Swami Maharaj’s Centenary Celebrations, a special convention for 400 purohits, including esteemed priests, pujaris, learned shastris, acharyas, pundits and vachaspatis, representing various Hindu mandirs situated in New Delhi was held at Swaminarayan Akshardham.
The convention commenced with lighting of the auspicious lamp and recital of the Purush Sukta by learned scholars. Then, BAPS sadhus presented the enlightening life, work and teachings of Bhagwan Swaminarayan and Pramukh Swami Maharaj. Thereafter, the convention addressed the vital role of mandirs in modern society and how priests can help to spread the timeless wisdom of Hindu traditions, culture, shastras and sages through service and the upkeep of mandirs.
