Over 1,300 women of all ages attended the Women's Day celebration based on the theme ‘Yeh Mandir Mera’ – ‘This Is My Mandir’. This uplifting event honored the devotion and unwavering faith of women, and their contributions to building a mandir. The thoughtfully curated program highlighted self-control (saiyam), understanding (samjan), and dedication (samarpan) as the core principles that not only go into the construction of a mandir, but also as the qualities needed in every woman’s spiritual and everyday life.
These values were vividly brought to life through a variety of engaging, insightful and inspiring videos, cultural performances and interviews. The presentations involved over 300 participants from five BAPS centres, demonstrating their unity, harmony, and friendship.
A particularly impactful presentation involved a series of skits based on real-life scenarios that illustrated the practical application of Satsang Diksha shloka 152 – that Bhagwan is the all-doer ¬– in the everyday life of devotees.
Another highlight was the fluent recitation of verses from the Satsang Diksha over 100 balikas.
One of the most heartfelt presentations was by Riddhi Khatri, who shared the heartbreaking loss of her 5-year-old daughter. Despite their immense grief, Riddhi and her husband, rather than mourning on the day of the funeral, encouraged all to wear festive traditional clothing and celebrate the day. This powerful display of strength and faith reflected their deep trust in God and guru, reminding us that true spiritual understanding brings inner peace and joy.
Among the distinguished guests present were Honorable Cassandra Fernando, Honorable Lily D’Ambrosio, Ms Pauline Richards MP, Ms Lauren Kathage MP, Ms Vivienne Nguyen, Dr. Karthika Hinduja, Senior Sergeant Katie Johnson, Sergeant Kim Gammon and Ms Manali Brahmbhatt. In their speeches, the esteemed guests highlighted the power of unity, faith, and perseverance, and the strength women bring to society.
The occasion was a powerful reflection of women’s spiritual strength, their devotion, and their ability to build, nurture, and preserve not only mandirs, but also communities, families, and cultures.
