Over 5,000 students and devotees attended this year's Annual Day celebration of BAPS Swaminarayan Chhatralaya, Vallabh Vidyanagar.
The event took place at Akshar Farm in the presence of Pujya Keshavjivandas Swami (Mahant Swami) and Pujya Tyagvallabh Swami.
In the assembly, students presented bhajans specially composed for the occasion, a traditional dance and an outstanding drama entitled ‘9.7’. The drama conveyed a powerful message by contrasting the carefree, yet ultimately disturbed, life of those who for greed of wealth had forsaken their parents, family and others who have helped them, against those who have fulfilled their duties and served the people who have helped them.
Thereafter, prizes were awarded to students based on their academic and other special achievements throughout the year. Also, prizes were presented to students for their outstanding performances in the speech, essay writing and sports competitions organized by the Chhatralaya.
At the end of the assembly, Pujya Mahant Swami blessed the gathering.
