Following the Sanctification Ceremony of the new BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Sydney, a Neighbourhood Open Day was held on Saturday 18 May 2013.
The Mandir, which is located in a multi-cultural neighbourhood in suburban western Sydney, has enjoyed support from its neighbours for over a decade. BAPS activities have become an integral part of the area and supported by the local and wider community.
During the Open Day, neighbours who visited the new Mandir were introduced to the murtis in the central shrine and guided around the premises, including dining hall and children’s activity rooms. Guests commended BAPS for the planning and design of such a purpose-built complex, and thanked the volunteers for the positive contribution the Mandir continues to make to the neighbourhood.
