From 12 to 14 July 2013, a total of 133 youths aged between 14 and 24, with 14 karyakars/sanchalaks from Mayfair, Lenasia, Laudium, Durban and Tzaneen in South Africa, Gaborone in Botswana, Lilongwe in Malawi and Bulawayo in Zimbabwe attended Southern Africa’s first National Kishore-Kishori Winter Convention. Held at the Sarabi Country Lodge and Conference Center in Kempton Park, Johannesburg, the shibir, which was themed ‘Well, That’s Life!’ provided guidance to kishores and kishoris in helping to face hurdles in life and make difficult decisions which could mold their future. The 3-day shibir consisted of theme-specific speeches, related classroom sessions, live video blessings from sadguru sadhus, activities and team building exercises which enabled the kishores and kishoris to share their views and concerns, as well as obtain guidance and inspiration in an informal and enjoyable manner.
At the conclusion of the shibir, the kishores and kishoris voluntarily undertook pledges to observe various niyams in their daily lives.
