Closer to Jakarta and Singapore than Sydney and Melbourne, Darwin, capital of the Northern Territory of Australia, is quite accurately known as the gateway to Asia from Australia’s “Top End”.
Catering to the needs of the emerging Satsang centre in Darwin a one-day Satsang Shibir was held there for the first time on 26 November 2011. Based on the theme of ‘Spiritual Quotient’, Jnanpurush Swami and Adarshmuni Swami gave interactive presentations and conducted small-group breakout sessions focusing on family values, the power of faith and daily rituals as well as other practical aspects of spirituality. A panel discussion based on the true-life incidents of the panellists and a group discussion on the story of Eklavya encouraged everyone to share their experiences and opinions. The modest, yet enthusiastic gathering of 45 attendees left the Shibir invigorated and with a greater sense of unity.
