65 karyakars from across Europe gathered in the small, picturesque town of Engelberg in the neutral country of Switzerland for their first European Karyakar event. They had journeyed from Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Spain, the Republic of Ireland and the United Kingdom to convene in the shadow of Mount Titlis (3,238m/10,623 ft) between Friday 19 September and Monday 22 September.
The Karyakar Milan was an opportunity for the karyakars to meet and exchange ideas, share best practices, and grow in their motivation to further Swamishri’s vision of extending Satsang throughout Europe. Sadhus, trustees and karyakars joined them from the UK, some of whom have been travelling for Satsang Pravrutti within Europe since 1982.
The event included various motivational speeches, question-and-answer sessions, interactive workshops, group discussions, and video and multimedia presentations. Everyone had the opportunity to meet each other and understand the challenges that are faced in the different countries. It was also wonderful for everyone to experience the variety of languages spoken at the event; karyakars had come together from ten countries. The natural beauty of the magnificent Swiss Alps also provided an added treat, especially when everyone enjoyed a trip to the top of Mount Titlis – giving some karyakars their very first experience of snow!
Everyone departed to their respective countries thoroughly motivated and spiritually charged.
