With the blessings of Param Pujya Pramukh Swami Maharaj, a grand celebration was organised by BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Neasden, on Wed 16 Aug 2006 to mark the birth of Bhagwan Shri Krishna.
On the day of Janmashtami, a grand Annakut was offered to the deities in the Mandir. Throughout the day, many people viewed the Annakut from 10am to 9pm and all the visitors were given sacred prasadam “Panchajari”. The evening sabha in the Haveli hall was held between 8pm and 10pm; sadhus spoke of the glory of devotion to God, and sang bhajans. The finale to mark the birth of Bhagwan Shri Krishna was celebrated with arti and swinging of the paranu (birth-cradle).
