On behalf of BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha, Pujya Brahmavihari Swami was honored at the Lokmat Maharashtrian of the Year Awards 2025 by Lokmat, a prestigious media group that recognizes individuals who have made outstanding contributions to society, driving progress and excellence in their respective fields.
The event, held at Raj Bhavan, Mumbai, was graced by esteemed dignitaries from politics, business, and culture, including chief guest Honorable Governor of Maharashtra Shri C.P. Radhakrishnan, as well as Honorable Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis, Honorable Deputy Chief Minister Shri Eknath Shinde, and Honorable Speaker of the Maharashtra Assembly Shri Rahul Narwekar.
Brahmavihari Swami was honored by the Governor of Maharashtra for his remarkable contributions to international relations, humanitarian service, and interfaith harmony through BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha. His leadership has been instrumental in fostering global unity, overseeing humanitarian projects, and strengthening cultural ties across nations. He played a key role in leading the construction of the historic BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi, the first traditional Hindu mandir in the Middle East. Additionally, during the peak of the Russia-Ukraine war, he led the BAPS relief efforts at the Poland-Ukraine border, assisting Indian nationals and global citizens in their safe evacuation.
The event also recognized Shri Devendra Fadnavis with a Special Award for his impactful leadership and services to Maharashtra. Other distinguished awardees included Shri Sanjiv Bajaj (Chairman & MD, Bajaj Finserv), Shri Kartik Aaryan (Indian Actor), and Shri Deven Bharti (Special Commissioner, Mumbai Police).
The awards ceremony, backed by a prestigious jury comprising eminent leaders, industrialists, and experts, celebrated the remarkable achievements of individuals who have made a lasting impact in their respective fields, furthering Maharashtra’s legacy of excellence and service.
