Under the joint auspices of AARSH (Akshardham Academy for Research in Social Harmony) at Akshardham in Gandhinagar and the Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapith in Tirupati, a National Seminar to discuss and exchange work on the Panchratra Agamas was held in Tirupati on 27 November 2002. Many well-known and respected scholars of the Pancharatra Agamas participated in this day-long seminar.
Among the scholars present were Dr. Prahladacharya, Chancellor of Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapith; Dr. L.N. Bhatt, renowned Panchratra Agama scholar; Dr. Ranganathanujacharya, Kovur (Andhra Pradesh); Dr. Ramanujacharya, ex-chancellor of Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapith; Dr. Prabhakar Apte, Pune; Dr.Sampatkumaracharya, Tirupati; Dr.Ramswami Agarkar, Cochin; Shrinivas Varkhedi, Tirupati; Dr. K.K.A. Venkatachari, ex-director, AARSH; Paramhansa Parivrajakacharya Pujya Rangapriya Swami; Paramhansa Parivrajakacharya Shri Yatiraj Jeerswami; Pujya Dr. Shrutiprakash Swami, AARSH, Gandhinagar; Pujya Dr. Rasikvihari Swami, AARSH, Gandhinagar.
The seminar was inaugurated by Pujya Yagneshwar Swami and Dr. Prahladacharya. Pujya Yagneshwar Swami then delivered the keynote address in Sanskrit.
One of the highlights of the seminar was the release of a well-researched publication by AARSH, 'Catalogue of Panchratra'. Compiled by Pujya Parampurush Swami and Pujya Shrutiprakash Swami, it is a unique work of reference that will be invaluable to scholars worldwide studying the Panchratra Agama body of scriptures.
At the conclusion of the seminar, everyone was delighted with the content and outcome and all felt that fresh impetus had been given to the study of these ancient Hindu texts.
