The BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha’s work has been recognized and awarded by many organizations around the world. A few of these recognitions are mentioned here.
1989 – Gujarat Government honors the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha with the “Best Children Activities Award.”
1992 – Government of India honors the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha with the “National Award for Child Welfare” presented by HE Shankar Dayal Sharma, President of India.
1993 – Sat-Chit-Anand, the 14-screen multimedia show at Swaminarayan Akshardham, Gandhinagar, wins the Bronze Award at the 9th International Audio-Visual and Multimedia Festival in Munich, Germany.
1994 – United Nations recognizes the BAPS Swaminarayan Santhsa with an award for “Exemplary Effort for Literacy Drive in Bhavnagar.”
1995 – BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha granted Consultative Status with the United Nation’s Economic and Social Council.
1995 – BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha awarded the “Brent Green Leaf Award” by Alcan for collecting and recycling over 7 million aluminum cans in less than 3 years.
1996 – Swaminarayan Aksharpith, BAPS’ publishing house, receives the “Excellence in Printing” award from All India Federation of Master Printers, New Delhi, India.
1996 – BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir, London receives “Most Enterprising Building Award, 1996” from the Royal Fine Arts Commission & British Sky Broadcasting.
1996 – BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha volunteers in the United Kingdom awarded the “Care of Croydon Award” and the “Alcan Award” for the largest aluminum recycling campaign ever in the nation – 91 tons.
1998 – BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir, London acclaimed as one of the “70 Modern Wonders of the World” by the Reader’s Digest.
2000 – Pramukh Swami Maharaj proclaimed a “Master Builder” by Guinness World Records for creating the most Hindu mandirs in the world.
2000 – BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir, London sets world record for most vegetarian dishes (1,247) during an Annakut Festival by Guinness World Records.
2000 – BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir, Nairobi receives “Millenium Award for Excellence in Architecture” from the Architectural Association of Kenya.
2001 – Rotary International Mumbai bestows highest honor on Pramukh Swami Maharaj, the “Service Above Self” Award.
2001 – The BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha and Pramukh Swami Maharaj receive the “G.D. Birla International Award for Preservation of India’s Heritage and Culture,” presented by HE Krishna Kant, Vice President of India.
2005 – Mystic India, a large format film about India produced by BAPS Charities, receives the “Audience’s Choice Prize” at the 10th International Large Format Film Festival in France.
2007 – Guinness World Records awards the Swaminarayan Akshardham, New Delhi with the Largest Comprehensive Hindu Temple Award.
2007 – Guinness World Records awards Pramukh Swami Maharaj with consecrating the most Hindu mandirs in the world to date – a total of 713 in 2007
