Recognizing the contributions the elderly have made to our community, the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha continues to care for the elderly when many no longer are able to do so. BAPS instills values in children that promote taking care of and sustaining their parents for the duration of their life. Its more tangible initiatives, such as subsidized housing, financial support and assistance, counseling, and post-retirement services, keep the elderly active even after they have retired and independent if possible. Pramukh Swami Maharaj answers questions and concerns raised by thousands of elderly individuals through his personal consultations and letters, convincing children to take care of their parents and respect them. We believe in raising a community in which elders are valued members of society.
