Bhagwan Swaminarayan often visited Sarangpur and sanctified every home and corner of the village. Even today, these places have a distinct sanctity: Jiva Khachar’s and Rathod Dhadhal’s homes, the village square, Narayan Kund, Jaliyo Dharo, Shami tree (located in the southern part) and Dholo well.
Bhakti Chhatri
After celebrating Rangotsav in Sarangpur, Gunatitanand Swami and Nishkulanand Swami dressed Bhagwan Swaminarayan in clothes made of flowers at this location, known as Bhakti Chhatri.
Narayan Kund
Whenever Bhagwan Swaminarayan visited Sarangpur, he would often bathe in this step well with the Paramahansas and also meditate alongside it.
Pitha Khachar Na Orda
During the very early stages of the construction work for Sarangpur Mandir, Brahmaswarup Shastriji Maharaj and santos would stay at Pitha Khachar’s residence.
Prasadi No Choro
The Sarangpur town square. Once, during the monsoon season, heavy rainfall had caused havoc in the village. Bhagwan Swaminarayan, himself, begged for alms in the village, and then came here to distribute grains to those in need.
Rathod Dhadal Nu Ghar
Once, when Bhagwan Swaminarayan celebrated the Rangotsav festival in Rathod Dhadhal’s Darbar. While playing raas with all the Paramahansas, he touched a stick to Gunatitanand Swami’s chest and identified him as Aksharbrahman.
Shri Hanuman Mandir
The Kastabhanjan Hanumanji Mandir was consecrated by Gopalanand Swami, one of Bhagwan Swaminarayan’s foremost sadhus on Ashwin Vad 5, V.S. 1905. The mere darshan of the murti of Hanumanji that Gopalanand Swami installed dispels ghosts and other evil spirits that haunt people.
