Mayor of London, Rt. Hon. Sadiq Khan, participated in the Hindu New Year's day rituals in the upper sanctum upon arriving
Mr Khan was warmly greeted in the New Year's Day assembly by Sadguru Pujya Tyagvallabh Swami

Yogvivek Swami, Head of BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, London, welcomed the Mayor to the assembly in his New Year's address
The Mayor began by wishing the Hindu community a happy Diwali
Mr Khan especially praised and thanked the Hindus of London for their valuable contributions to the capital
"You show that is it possible to be a proud Hindu, and it is also possible to be a proud Londoner and to be proudly British."
The Mayor joined the congregation in performing the Annakut Arti
Sadguru Pujya Tyagvallabh Swami blessed the assembly with his prayers for the New Year
