On the auspicious occasion of Vijaya Dashami (Dussehra), approximately 2,000 devotees, including 900 couples, participated in the Vishwashanti Mahayagna at Swaminarayan Akshardham in New Delhi, offering prayers for world peace.
Gathered around 114 specially prepared yagna kunds, the devotees chanted sacred Vedic mantras and made traditional offerings, drawing upon the spiritual power of the yagna to honor ancient traditions. The recitation of 315 verses from the Satsang Diksha shastra further enriched the spiritual atmosphere. Special prayers were offered for peaceful co-existence in a world facing numerous challenges.
Following the Mahayagna, Munivatsal Swami addressed the assembly, “On this day, which symbolizes the victory of good over evil, we have come together with the hope that peace prevails everywhere, in our environment, in society, in our families and within each individual. We pray for lasting happiness, good health, and harmony within families. The Vedic mantras and the Swaminarayan Mahamantra recited during this yagna should resonate within us. Let this moment be one of self-reflection, where we strive to conquer the 'Ravana' within ourselves, overcoming our inner negativity. We also pray for an end to conflicts and for peace everywhere.”
