On the auspicious occasion of Pramukh Varni Din (Jeth sud 4) more than 5,000 male and female devotees of all ages from throughout Vadodara participated in the 10 km padyatra (pilgrimage by foot) from Atladara to Chansad, the birthplace of Pramukh Swami Maharaj.
At 5:30 a.m., in the Atladara mandir premises, senior swamis performed pujan of Shri Akshar-Purushottam Maharaj and then padyatra began at 5:45 a.m. Swamis of Atladara mandir also joined this padyatra. During the padyatra, everyone chanted the Swaminarayan mantra while turning the rosary.
In Chansad, all devotees first visited Hanumangarhi, sanctified by Pramukh Swami Maharaj during his childhood. After that, they had darshan at the BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir, which was sanctified by Bhagatji Maharaj, Shastriji Maharaj and Yogiji Maharaj. Finally, they went to the birthplace of Pramukh Swami Maharaj where they offered prayers and prostrations for the good health and long-life of guruhari Mahant Swami Maharaj.
