The women's wing of the BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi organized a special event titled ‘Matru Devo Bhava: Celebrating Motherhood’ to honor the role of mothers in society. Over 700 women of different age groups from various communities attended the event.
The event highlighted the theme of ‘Matru Devo Bhava’, a principle in Indian culture that honors mothers as divine figures. The program, presented by youth and women from various communities, included thought-provoking talks, motivating cultural performances, interactive skits, bhajans, and other presentations emphasizing the importance of motherhood, and underscoring the selfless love and guidance mothers provide in nurturing a child's development.
Among the distinguished guests were Dr. Tulika Shukla, who spoke on the impact of social media on modern parenting, and Dr. Geeta Ramkrishnan, who highlighted the pivotal role of mothers in shaping society, and how to balance family and professional life. A video presentation also showcased the artistic contributions of Mrs. Meera Choksi to the Abu Dhabi Mandir.
The event concluded with a traditional group dance and a pledge by the attendees, reaffirming their commitment to embody the values of motherhood.
