BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha in the UK and Europe observed the UN’s International Women’s Day with an inspiring programme in 30 centres around the region.
International Women’s Day (IWD), which falls annually on 8 March, was ratified by the United Nations in 1977 to honour the significant contributions of women throughout the course of history.
BAPS’s celebrations, titled ‘Celebrating Women: Uplifting Communities’, focussed on how everyone can be an advocate for harmony and draw inspiration from women past and present.
The programme delved into the challenges faced by individuals and communities amid the pandemic and ongoing cost-of-living crisis. It specifically underscored the significance of cultivating a positive mindset and emphasised the transformative power of small acts of kindness in fostering unity and positively impacting society.
These inspiring themes were thoughtfully explored through uplifting video presentations, cultural performances, panel discussions, and addresses by esteemed guests who shared their inspiring testimonies and experiences.
BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha’s celebration of IWD represents its ongoing commitment to women and matters of importance to women, as inspired and guided by BAPS’s spiritual leader, His Holiness Mahant Swami Maharaj.
