Hundreds of people from the local community came together on Sunday 19 November at Diwali & Annakut Celebration to experience the vibrant sounds, flavours and colours of Diwali – ‘the Festival of Light’ – and the Hindu New Year. It was one of the largest devotional celebrations in Wrocław.
The Diwali festivities included the annakut – ‘a mountain of food’ consisting of numerous dishes freshly prepared by devotees – that was artistically arranged as a devotional offering of the first meal of the New Year made in thanksgiving to God.
Hon. Consul Kartikey Johari from Indian Embassy, Wrocław also joined the celebrations. He shared, “The universal messages of Diwali – of good triumphing over evil – and serving the wider community through love and compassion, are messages that the whole world needs right now. Also he expressed his support for BAPS in anyway and anywhere. I am delighted and proud to be a part of these wonderful celebrations by BAPS in Wrocław. Thank you for all that you do for our great town!”
