During August 2021, as part of the Pramukh Swami Maharaj Shatabdi Celebrations, over 1,800 families at BAPS centers in Australia and New Zealand participated in the Shatabdi Mahapuja to pray for the wellbeing and prosperity of all.
Due to the variation in pandemic restrictions imposed by the governments in Australia and New Zealand, families participated either in-person or online.
Where possible, centers conducted the mahapuja in halls enabling families to take part in the traditional way. In other centers, families participated by performing the rituals from their homes as directed by the webcast.
The National Planning Team sent a video of swamis performing the mahapuja and guruhari Mahant Swami Maharaj’s blessings to each center. A checklist of all the items required for the mahapuja was also provided. Each center then selected a date and made arrangements for the families to participate as per the local restrictions.
