BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha joined local communities, states, and countries around the world to support the fight against the current COVID-19 pandemic. Every corner of the world has been disrupted by the pandemic as the general public is advised to take preventative measures such as social distancing and ‘sheltering in place’ in some areas.
For the benefit of others, many brave heroes put themselves at great risk to take care of our families and communities affected by COVID-19: doctors, nurses, paramedics, public safety officers, and other frontline workers. These individuals risk their health every day to stem the impact of the pandemic. To honor and appreciate the selfless efforts of these men and women working tirelessly in healthcare and public safety, swamis at the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Nairobi participated in applauding the frontline workers and expressed their support and solidarity during the COVID-19 pandemic. Devotees also participated by applauding from their homes.
At a time when the most important duty of each citizen is to maintain social distancing to help contain the spread of the coronavirus, BAPS has responded to government requests for assistance to care for the needy.
Throughout Africa, BAPS has served in various ways, as requested by local leaders.
Under the guidance and inspiration of His Holiness Mahant Swami Maharaj, BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha will continue to provide such assistance to help the needy during this challenging period.
BAPS communities around the world continue to pray for the well-being of these heroes as well as for peace and positivity as we persevere through these trying times.
