The COVID-19 pandemic continues to impact individuals, families and thousands of health care professionals including doctors, nurses, paramedics and public safety officers across Canada who risk their lives on a daily basis to ensure the well-being of the public at large.
On April 4, 2020, BAPS devotees from across Canada joined online for 24 hours of continuous prayers (Akhand Dhun) to pray for all those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and to give strength to the healthcare professionals and public safety officers who are working day and night to save lives.
Over 2,800 BAPS devotees participated in the prayers from their homes across the country. The 24 hours of prayers, which spanned thousands of kilometres and several time zones across the country, began in Halifax and moved across Canada to end in Vancouver, with one common theme - the well-being of everyone. In heartwarming unity, thousands of people came together in prayer from their homes across Canada for the benefit of local communities to give hope and strength to everyone during this difficult time.
