More than 100 delegates attended an education and careers conference on Saturday 21 July 2018 at BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, London to progress in their respective academic and career journeys.
Former and senior university students provided valuable information on selecting a university and improving the quality of their UCAS application forms. They also explained techniques to overcome various challenges that are faced by university students, including exam pressure.
Professionals and recruiters from various industries were also on hand to guide post-university students through the intricacies of job applications, including a masterclass on effective CV and cover letter writing and preparing for interviews and assessment centres.
Delegates also interacted with professionals from various industries during a networking lunch. Representatives from science, technology, government, education and various other sectors shared their personal experiences and valuable insights from their respective careers.
The conference concluded with messages of encouragement for delegates who departed with the tools to pursue their education and career aspirations with renewed vigour and determination.
An A-Level student shared, “I have always struggled to revise effectively for my exams, but I now feel prepared to tackle my exams with confidence.”
A university graduate from London added, “The interview session was a fantastic opportunity to practice thinking on the spot. The individual feedback was extremely useful. Thank you for organising such a great event.”
