BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Adelaide organised an education seminar, which was attended by 60 high school students and over 150 parents. The aim of this seminar was to disseminate information on secondary education.
The Minister for Education and Child Development, Hon. Susan Close MP who attended the event, addressed the participants with her insightful views on South Australian education system and shared her thoughts on the role of parents in child’s education.
The seminar threw light on the common misconceptions that parents and students have and provided a better perspective on how to select their subjects and apply for university. Mr. Michael Austin from Department for Education and Child Development (DECD) and a panel discussed on common issues like parents and students expectations,time management, distractions students face, career opportunities and importance of satsang in student's life.
The Seminar concluded with a brief video presentation on Transcendence book written by Former President APJ Abdul Kalam on his spiritual experiences with Pramukh Swami Maharaj. The book was given as a memento to the invited guests. Overall the seminar provided an insightful knowledge of the Australian education system.
