Chaitra Sud Nom marks the birth of both Bhagwan Swaminarayan and Bhagwan Ram. The women of BAPS North America celebrated both auspicious events by presenting a cultural program with the theme of “Sakhi samjan ma sukh”, meaning “Dear friend, there is happiness in understanding.” The program illustrated that by developing understanding and maintaining perspective, we can increase our happiness in life.
Throughout this year, as a part of the five-year celebration of the Shatabdi (100th birthday) of His Holiness Pramukh Swami Maharaj, devotees from BAPS North America have organized various programs centered on the theme of samjan (understanding). The celebration concluded with video blessing from Pramukh Swami Maharaj. He stressed the necessity for each person to maintain understanding and to work with each other to make the world a better place. Throughout his life, he has demonstrated this concept and even in the most adverse situations, he has never reacted with anything other than kindness, compassion, and understanding. The program highlighted this same type of understanding through incidents from the times of Bhagwan Swaminarayan and Bhagwan Ram, which the audience could relate to and implement in their lives.
