The month of Shravan is the fifth month of the Hindu calendar beginning from Chaitra and is the most auspicious month of the Chaturmas as it comes with innumerable religious festivals and ceremonies.
To please Bhagwan Swaminarayan and Guruhari Pramukh Swami Maharaj, this year the Balika Pravruti central-office Ahmedabad held a one-day Parayan on Sunday 27 July 2014, whereby over 3,900 balikas and more than 1400 mahilas attended the event. As part of the year-long celebrations to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Brahmaswarup Shastriji Maharaj, the theme was, “Akshar Purushottam na Danka”.
The program commenced with the loud Jaynad of Bhagwan Swaminarayan and his spiritual successors. Through a unique interactive parayan, around 142 balika karyakars, balikas and shishus presented the life & work of Brahmaswarup Shastriji Maharaj.
Through inspiring skits, they presented how Dungar bhakta had a strong conviction in Bhagwan Swaminarayan, his philosophy and his spiritual successors. Despite growing opposition by detractors of this purity and philosophical clarity, Shastriji Maharaj built 5 Shikharbadh mandirs.
Thereafter, a short drama was enacted to elucidate the Akshar Purushottam philosophy and the five eternal elements i.e Jiva, Ishwar, Maya, Brahma and Prabrahma. Through this the Balikas learnt how they can strengthen their conviction by regularly attending the balika sabha. They also understood the history of the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha and the work of Shastriji Maharaj.
In conclusion, an energetic dance entitled “Live for BAPS” raised the momentum and enthused the audience with devotion. The parayan was a resounding success, due to the devotion of young karyakars who prepared and accomplished the event exceptionally well with the inspiration of HH Pramukh Swami Maharaj.
