The 2013 National Satsang Prasar & Management Conference for UK and Europe volunteers was held in the presence of senior sadhu Gnaneshwar Swami (visiting from India) at BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, London on Sunday 27 January 2013.The event, re-arranged following heavy snowfall a week earlier, welcomed more than 700 delegates.
The morning session began with a video depicting the Satsang Prasar values which reminded attendeesof the key focus governing each and every volunteer’s seva.
Inspiring messages from Pramukh Swami Maharaj over the years reinforced the spirit of service and provided attendees with further drive and direction.
Jitu Patel, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, delivered an enlightening address summarising the roadmap and expressing his appreciation for all present. Fellow Trustee, Harshad Patel, echoed his sentiments.
A selection of Conference attendees were then asked to share their experiences and insights in a panel forum. The variety of questions, focusing on the practical and spiritual application of seva ideals, provided valuable inspiration and guidance on how volunteers can perform their seva more effectively.
Satyavrat Swami addressed the delegates in his keynote speech, in which he took time to reflect upon the previous year and thanked the volunteers for their on-going efforts and silent sacrifices. Gnaneshwar Swami then followed, delivering a motivational speech charged with practical advice for each and every volunteer to imbibe.
After lunch, delegates proceeded to join their respective mandal or department to gain more specific information and guidance on how better to serve in their respective areas.
