BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha was awarded the ‘Philosopher Saint Shri Dnyaneshwar World Peace Prize 2010’ by World Peace Center (Alandi), MAEER’s MIT, Pune, India. The prize, awarded annually for services to humanity, was presented at a special ceremony on 30 December 2011 by H.E. Shri K. Sankarnarayanan, Governor of Maharashtra and Goa. Other dignitaries present on this occasion included Padma Bhushan Dr R.A. Mashelkar, distinguished scientist; Padmashri Dr Vijay P. Bhatkar, Chairman, IIMv, Pune; Padma Vibhushan Dr Mohan Dharia, President, Vanrai, Pune; and others. The award was received on behalf of His Holiness Pramukh Swami Maharaj by Pujya Kothari Bhaktipriya Swami and Pujya Viveksagar Swami.
