The BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi received two prestigious accolades at the MEED Project Awards 2024 in association with Mashreq. The Mandir was honored with the awards for ‘Best Cultural Project in the UAE’ and ‘Best Cultural Project in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA)’, recognizing its architectural brilliance, cultural significance, and positive societal impact.
The MEED Project Awards, regarded as the gold standard in the MENA region since 2007, celebrate the best in engineering, innovation, and sustainability. This year’s ceremony, at the JW Marriott Hotel in Dubai Marina, UAE, brought together over 400 attendees, with over 40 nominees representing groundbreaking projects across the region. Categories ranged from education and energy to cultural and transport projects, showcasing the diversity and excellence of MENA’s project landscape.
The BAPS Hindu Mandir Committee, along with their partners at Capital Engineering, attended the event to receive the awards.
Judged on criteria such as engineering and design, technological innovation, project impact, and sustainability, the Mandir stood out for its meticulous craftsmanship, innovative approach, and dedication to fostering peace. It has set a benchmark for cultural and community initiatives in the region, becoming a symbol of harmony and inclusivity.
Brahmavihari Swami emphasized the profound significance of the recognition, “These awards highlight not only the technical and architectural excellence of the BAPS Hindu Mandir but also the spirit of unity and harmony that inspired its creation.
