The Bal/Balika/Kishore/Kishori/Yuvak/Yuati Satsang Development Committee (BKY SDC) of North America, a talented group of dedicated youth volunteers assembled at the shikkharbadh mandir in Bartlett, IL. from October 15 to 17, 2004, to solidify a vision for their respective wings.
The meeting's theme, "Reflect. Act. Satsang," encouraged karyakars to reflected on Swamishri's vision for the North-American satsang mandal and thought of ways to make it a reality by the time of his next visit in 2007. While keeping satsang in mind, the SDC karyakars planned to develop their mandals through an array of new projects that will be implemented at local mandirs to develop the satsang mandal in North America.
From a writing team that will produce new works to promote spirituality from a youth perspective to a multimedia team formed to create captivating presentations to a marketing team to promote the sanstha's new epic film, "Mystic India," the meeting opened up new avenues for the sanstha's progress.
The meeting also reorganized the current structure of BAPS youth activities in North America by creating Regional Core Team leads and admins to serve as a link between regional and national karyakars.
Committee members also participated in a team-building activity that required them to navigate through Downtown Chicago. Sessions with P. Santo in the form of katha, integrated with manan and maansi sessions that reflected on Swamishri's divine qualities, were a great source of inspiration for all involved.
Swamishri showered the committee members with His divine blessing with a live phone call from Africa. He gave the team aashirvaad for success both in satsang and in their personal development.
