VISITOR INFORMATION
Open to one and all, the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir was inaugurated in Feb of 2017 after only 24 months of construction time. The Mandir is about 184.6 feet Long by 181.6 feet Wide and 74.6 Feet High, Covering 33,523.36 Sq.ft. of Aera. Fully Stone Carved Without any Steel. It is Designed as Southern Shilpa Shaili by Sompura. The Mandir has 23 Samrans of Which 7 are Giant Ones Which Beautifies the Mandir from surroundings. Mandir is carved by hand Rajasthan and assembled in Lilburn like a giant 3-D puzzle. Mandir is set upon 140 Carved Pillars. It also has about 109 Beautiful Toran with 10,269 Carved Sculpture and Deities which is Representing the Heritage of Maharashtra and India. It represents True Devotion of Guruhari Pramukh Swami Maharaj, Guruhari Mahant Swami Maharaj and all Devoted Santo, Hari Bhakto. The Mandir is comprised of Indian pink Sandstone and Red Stone.
What To See
VISITOR GUIDELINES
The Mandir is a house of God. Being a very sacred place, all visitors are required to abide by the following rules and regulations applicable to all areas including the Mandir, Haveli and the Exhibition.
ENTRY
Entry is free .Donations are welcome. Donations are tax deductible. Checks should be made payable to BAPS.
CHILDREN
Children of all ages are welcome. However, visitors of age 16 and under must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.
SEATING ARRANGEMENTS
There are designated areas for men and women inside the main Mandir floor during the Aarti ceremony and other religious rituals. Visitors are requested to adhere to these arrangements during the ceremony.
PARKING
Free parking available. Do not park in the fire-zones and in front of any of the building. The management does not assume any responsibility for vehicles parked on the premises.
SHOES
Visitors are required to remove their foot wear before entering the Mandir or any part of the Haveli complex. (Shoe racks provided within the Haveli).
CELL PHONES
Visitors are requested to turn off their Cell phones during their visit inside the Mandir. Mobile phones with cameras must not be used to take photo or video inside the Mandir or the Haveli.
SPECIAL NEEDS
Elevator access is available. Wheelchairs are provided upon request, subject to their availability. Please contact our information desk for assistance.
DRESS CODE
Casual attire. No sleeveless tops. No shorts. No skirts shorter than knee length. Sarong will be provided upon request at the reception desk.
CONDUCT
Please do not touch any of the carvings within the Mandir, Exhibition or Haveli. To maintain the spiritual atmosphere observe silence inside the Mandir and the Exhibition.
ACCESSIBILITY
Facilities are wheelchair accessible. Please park strollers outside the Mandir.
PHOTOGRAPHY
The Mandir complex is a sacred and spiritual place of worship. Please follow these guidelines to respect the sanctity of the Mandir.
FOOD AND DRINKS
No food or drinks are allowed inside. Please discard any chewing gum in the bin provided before entering.
SMOKING AND ALCOHOL
Smoking, tobacco, alcohol and drugs are not allowed anywhere in the complex.
PETS
No pets allowed within complex. (Service dogs allowed in most areas except sacred spaces used for prayer and meditation.)
WEAPONS
Guns & Firearms are not allowed on premises.
SECURITY
Activities in the complex are monitored and recorded by video surveillance. Please respect all security procedures.
DONATIONS
Visitors wishing to make donations towards the maintenance of the complex or to the charity work undertaken by BAPS in fields as diverse as education, environment, social relief, medicine, preserving heritage and spiritual upliftment are requested to utilize the donation boxes or contact the Reception Counter in the Haveli Lobby. Cheques can be made payable to ‘BAPS Inc.' Tax receipt will be issued.
LUGGAGE PROHIBITED
Large baggage/ luggage will not be allowed. Small hand bag may be allowed.
MORCHA / STRIKE RESTRICTED
It is forbidden to bring a morcha in the temple.
NOT USE BAD LANGUAGE
In Mandir premises do not use bad language.
