Sanskrit Conference 2026
As part of the auspicious silver jubilee celebrations of the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha in Australia and New Zealand, a five-day conference was organised by the BAPS Swaminarayan Research Institute (BSRI) in Adelaide, Australia. Titled “Sanskrit Conference: Apni Ekta” the conference was inspired by the 100th shloka of the Satsang Diksha, authored by Mahant Swami Maharaj.
The conference served as a powerful testament to the revival of traditional knowledge systems and the real-world applications of Sanskrit.
The conference hosted 292 select students, 64 teachers, and 10 Swamis from the Pacific region. Delegates who participated in the following courses took part in the conference: Satsang Siddhant Adhyayan, Satsang Diksha Visharad and Siddhant Sarvasvam.
The conference utilised multifaceted delivery by incorporating panel discussions, podcasts, and interactive workshops to bridge traditional academia with practical, modern-day practicality. Across the five days, learned local and senior sadhus dived deep into verse 100 from Satsang Diksha focusing on one Ishtadev, one guru and one siddhant.
Alongside content delivered by Swamis and teachers, 14 young scholars presented final exam presentations in the Sanskrit language.
Through their rigorous study of scripture and language, this emerging group of scholars is proudly utilising timeless Hindu traditions to navigate and elevate themselves. A special session at the conference focused on the daily use of Sanskrit for communication, thinking, and learning. The students vowed to develop their understanding of the language to greater heights. Looking ahead, delegates will learn to integrate Sanskrit into their daily conversations at home, lead prayers and scriptural readings during assemblies, and assist with teaching Sanskrit to younger children. These practical next steps ensure that the knowledge gained at the conference will have a real and lasting impact, both in their personal lives and throughout the community.
Senior Swamis also had given their guidance via zoom call and inspired the children to balance their studies and Sanskrit learnings, while providing practical tips for how to study. Mahant Swami Maharaj had also sent special video blessings for these young scholars which showed the path for true success in their life.
