The murti-pratishtha rituals of the murtis for the shikharbaddha BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir, Kolkata, were performed in the mandir precincts. The initial rituals were performed by Mahant Swami, Dr Swami, Ishwarcharan Swami and Bhagvatpriya Swami. More than 140 male and 75 female devotees from Kolkata participated in the rituals. Thereafter Kothari Jnanpriya Swami talked about the satsang history of Kolkata and the seva and sacrifice of the devotees.
When Swamishri arrived he first blessed the devotees of Kolkata from far. Then he performed the pratishtha rituals of the marble murtis of Shri Akshar-Purushottam Maharaj, Shri Ghanshyam Maharaj, Shri Radha-Krishna Dev, Shri Guru Parampara, Shri Hanumanji and Shri Ganapatji and the panchdhatu murtis of Shri Harikrishna Maharaj and Shri Nilkanth Varni by touching a gold-tipped stick to each of the murtis amidst the chanting of Vedic mantras. Then Swamishri and the senior sadhus performed arti. Thereafter, Mahant Swami and Dr Swami honoured Swamishri with a garland of malas. Finally, Swamishri performed abhishek of the murti of Shri Nilkanth Varni with the holy water of Gangasagar and also called Mahant Swami and Dr Swami to offer abhishek.
