24 January 2010 (VS 2066, Sud Nom Shri Hari Navmi ) Sunday, Vadodara, Kishore Day Celebration
Kishore Day was based on the theme of “Asmita” or “Pride”. In the Kishore Day assembly, after Swami’s puja, several sadhus spoke on cultivating pride for Satsang.
The evening assembly was themed on “Asmita: Shastra, Satpurush and Swadharma.” More than 3,000 kishores and kishoris of Vadodara city and rural areas were present. Dr Swami talked about having pride for “Satpurush”. Then case stories of kishores who had remained steadfast in their niyams were presented. This was followed by a video on Swamishri as the ideal guru or satpurush. Then a traditional dance on the bhajan “Ham Bharat ke Javan...” was performed by kishores. During the dance, senior sadhus honoured Swamishri with garlands. A video show on asmita was shown. Thereafter a brief discussion was presented by kishores on the celebration theme.
Finally, Swamishri blessed the assembly, “Pride means to obey the commands of God, study the shastras and to walk the talk. Our shastras show us how we should live. What we should eat, see and think are prescribed by our sacred texts.” Swamishri then elaborated upon the ill-effects of television and films, and the spiritual path shown by Shastriji Maharaj and Yogiji Maharaj.
