2 April 2002 (V.S.2058, Fagan vad 5) Tuesday, Sarangpur. Sanskrit Day
The mandir in Sarangpur is a seminary for sadhus. Here the sadhus are trained spiritually and taught Sanskrit, English, Hindi, music, etc. To express what they have learnt here, a Sanskrit Day program was presented before Swamishri.
Various scriptures and books in Sanskrit were arranged before the deities in the mandir shrines. During Swamishri's puja various Sanskrit bhajans and stotras were sung by sadhus.
After his puja, Swamishri performed pujan of the kalashas to be placed in the foundation-stone laying ceremony for the shikharbaddh mandir in Jaipur, Rajasthan.
4 April 2002 (V.S.2058, Fagan vad 7) Thursday, Sarangpur
With the prevailing communal violence in Gujarat, some leading citizens had requested Swamishri to make an appeal for peace. A video recording of Swamishri's message was arranged and it was telecasted in the news program throughout Gujarat.
6 April 2002 (V.S.2058, Fagan vad 9) Saturday, Sarangpur
This morning, Swamishri blessed 18 children who had covered the distance of 10km from Tajpur village to Sarangpur by prostrating and rolling (gabad-yatra) all through the night from 11.00 p.m. to 5.00 a.m. The children had performed 7,692 prostrations to please Swamishri.
Since Sarangpur is a seminary for sadhus, the sadhus studying Hindi dedicated the day's program as Hindi Day. Swamishri performed his puja amidst a backdrop of the Indian national flag and a map of India with the words, 'My India is Great'. The sadhus sang Hindi bhajans in Swamishri's puja.
In the afternoon, before Swamishri, several sadhus fluently delivered speeches in Hindi.
7 April 2002 (V.S.2058, Fagan vad 10) Sunday, Sarangpur
This morning, 500 devotees from the age of seven to eighty-two pilgrimaged by foot from Botad to Sarangpur. Many devotees from the villages of Gadhada, Sangavadar, etc. had also pilgrimaged by foot to Sarangpur. Swamishri blessed all the devotees.
Swamishri performed pujan of bricks for the foundation-stone laying ceremony of another mandir (sanskardham) in Botad.
9 April 2002 (V.S.2058, Fagan vad 12) Tuesday, Sarangpur
Swamishri performed the murti pratishtha rituals of murtis for the Swaminarayan Mandir for women in the village of Chachana.
