Sir Keir Starmer was traditionally welcomed by Swami Yogvivekdas, head of BAPS Neasden Temple
As Sir Keir made his way to the upper sanctum, he stopped to greet devotees and visitors
Sir Keir paid his respects at the shrines in the upper sanctum of the Mandir
Sir Keir paid his respects to His Holiness Pramukh Swami Maharaj, the creator of Neasden Temple
Sir Keir performed the abhishek of Shri Nilkanth Varni Maharaj with Yogvivekdas Swami
Jitu Patel, chair of BAPS UK, explained the devotional significance of the annakut offering
Sadguru Tyagvallabhdas Swami welcomed Sir Keir Starmer to the assembly with a flower garland
Sir Keir addressed the assembly with words of gratitude and respect for BAPS volunteers and the British Hindu community
Sir Keir Starmer: “Neasden Temple is a beacon of compassion and harmony for everyone – regardless of creed or background – [and is] an integral part of the religious and cultural landscape of Great Britain.”
Sir Keir Starmer: “To British Indians, I want to express my admiration and respect for everything you do for our country. Quite simply, the UK would be diminished in so many ways without you.”
Sir Keir joined swamis and devotees in offering the arti at the end of the assembly
